Suzuki Violin and Fiddle Teacher: Evelyn Osborne has been teaching violin and fiddle since 1993. In 2015 she relocated to Hong Kong to open the Hong Kong Suzuki Music Institute. From 1997-2002 she taught fiddle at Algonquin College in Ottawa. In 2004 she joined the St. John’s Suzuki Talent Education Program (STEP) faculty and served as STEP’s artistic director between 2006 and 2009. In 2011 and 2013-2015 Osborne was the artistic director of the Atlantic Canada Suzuki Institute (ACSI).
Evelyn is a highly qualified violin teacher and has completed both short-term and graduate level long-term violin pedagogical training from pre-twinkle through book 8 with internationally acclaimed teachers. The graduate level courses were between the University of Ottawa and the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. Osborne has studied with Teri Einfeldt (US, SAA president), Alice Joy Lewis (US) and Helen Brunner (UK). She has also trained in Suzuki Early Childhood Education with Dorothy Jones (Canada) and Danette Schuh (US). In 2013, Evelyn was granted the Suzuki Association of the America’s (SAA) teacher training scholarship.
